Mefverz D
Drotaverine 80mg + Mefenamic Acid 250mg Tablet
Indication
Drotaverine + Mefenamic Acid is a combined medication commonly prescribed for the effective treatment of abdominal pain. This formulation leverages the synergistic effects of its two active ingredients to provide comprehensive relief from abdominal discomfort.
Drotaverine, the first component, is an anti-spasmodic agent specifically designed to alleviate spasms in the smooth muscles of the abdomen. Spasms, which are sudden and involuntary contractions, can cause significant pain and discomfort. By targeting and relaxing these spasms, Drotaverine helps to reduce the intensity of the abdominal pain, allowing for more comfortable and manageable symptoms.
The second ingredient, Mefenamic Acid, is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). Mefenamic Acid works by inhibiting the production of certain chemical messengers in the body that are responsible for causing pain and inflammation. These chemical messengers, known as prostaglandins, play a crucial role in the inflammatory response and the sensation of pain. By blocking their release, Mefenamic Acid helps to diminish both the pain and the swelling associated with abdominal conditions.
Together, Drotaverine and Mefenamic Acid provide a dual approach to managing abdominal pain. While Drotaverine focuses on relaxing the smooth muscles to reduce spasms, Mefenamic Acid addresses the underlying pain and inflammation. This combined action not only alleviates pain more effectively but also enhances overall comfort for individuals suffering from various abdominal issues. Mefverz D tablets, also known as Mefverz D, incorporate these two active ingredients and offer a potent solution for abdominal pain relief.
